Water-saving agent to be showcased in SIAM Morocco – Tottori Resource Recycling, Inc., a Japanese foamed glass manufacturer through glass recycling technology, and its subsidiary Tottori Resource Recycling Morocco S.A.R.L showcase the water-saving solution for agriculture at SIAM 14th edition (La 14ème édition du Salon International de l’Agriculture du Maroc) in Meknes, Morocco from 16th to 21st April 2019.
The agriculture sector is crucial in Morocco. On the other hand, the regions for agricultural production such as Souss-Massa which is the center of vegetable production are located in an arid and semi-arid zone where sustainable water resource usage is a pressing issue. The decrease of rainfall caused by climate change is predicted; 20-30% precipitation reduction by the end of this century, according to UNDP (Reference: UNDP climate change adaptation)[1]
Tottori Resource Recycling, Inc. initiated its activity for water-saving agriculture by using foamed glass “Porous Alpha” in June 2015, at experimentation field in Souss Massa, Morocco, supported by Japanese SME’s oversea business development of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency). We realized 50% of water and fertilizer saving and more than 20% yield increase in Tomato and Green beans crops[2].
Tottori Resource Recycling, Inc. created its subsidiary, Tottori Resource Recycling Morocco S.A.R.L in Agadir, Morocco in May 2017, to provide farmers the solution of water and fertilizer saving and yield increase. With our solution, the farmers can reduce the costs by saving water and fertilizer, increase the revenue by better yield and continue agriculture production even under short rainfall by climate change.
We promote an innovative soil improvement agent “Porous Alpha” in SIAM for farmers to improve productivity. Please see the following information to find exhibition detail.
